Bovis Lend Lease secures new Myer National Support Office contract
The new Myer offices will be located at 800 Collins Street in Victoria Harbour. Lend Lease Development is developing the building for Myer and APPF Commercial, one of Lend Lease Investment Management’s wholesale property funds, which will own the facility upon completion.

The building will comprise approximately 880 square metres of ground floor retail space, three car park levels, as well as ten large flexible office floorplates of nearly 3000 square metres. Myer will occupy the entire office component of the 29,000 square metre building, which will also house large outdoor terraces and a proposed childcare facility.

Victoria Harbour is very quickly becoming the premier place to live, work and invest, with Myer joining ANZ, NAB and Lend Lease there to name just a few. It also comprises three residential buildings with another two on the way and with Collins and Bourke Street extended down to the water, it offers a truly modern Melbourne experience.

Bovis Lend Lease General Manager Victoria, Mr Geoff Moore, said the new Myer offices will be a sustainable building featuring A-Grade office accommodation that has been registered for a Green Star environmental rating.

“We will partner closely with Myer throughout the duration of the project to ensure the facility meets their requirements. This new building will be developed using environmentally-friendly construction techniques both for the base building and fitout,” Mr Moore said.

“This project is the sixth office building to be developed by Lend Lease Development and constructed by Bovis Lend Lease within Victoria Harbour,” he added.

Construction of the new Myer headquarters will commence in March 2008 and is scheduled for completion early 2010.

Myer CEO Bernie Brookes said: “We are looking forward to the development of our new National Support Office which will reflect our position as an international class retail business and provides an inspirational environment for our team members and the many trade partners who visit and interface with us to market their product and services.”
