Career History:
Joined Bovis Lend Lease in 2001 and have been doing this job for six years.
Prior to joining Bovis Lend Lease I worked for 4 years in an Office Design company as a Project Manager. I also had responsibility for purchasing and cost control.
Why did you decide to join Bovis Lend Lease?
I wanted to increase my experience in new building areas. Bovis Lend Lease was the best company to do this with because you have the opportunity of working on different kinds of projects.
What does your job involve?
My job consists of controlling the budget, negotiating the contracts and supervising change orders. It is a very interesting job because you need to work with the client, contractors and architects to achieve our purpose. It is about getting the best project at the right price.
Can you give an example of a project you have worked on recently?
For the past 5 years I’ve been working on Distrito C project for Telefonica. It consists of fourteen office buildings and a shopping centre.
What are the best things about working for Bovis Lend Lease?
I think the best thing is the team. Really, I’ve learned a lot from Bovis Lend Lease people. And I enjoy working with them very much. Also I like the freedom you are given to do your work; you are allowed to develop your imagination.
How would you describe Bovis Lend Lease’s culture?
I think the most important thing is that Bovis Lend Lease’s culture is real. It reflects honesty, respect, integrity. I like the motto “imagine-create”. I think “imagine-create” is what Bovis Lend Lease people want to do when they are working.
What would you tell someone who is thinking of joining Bovis Lend Lease?
It’s a great experience because our projects are unique. The people are fantastic, with lots of experience and a human touch.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I like travelling, visiting new countries and getting to know the culture. I also like theatre, cinema and especially the Opera.
