Role: Construction Manager
Location: Malaga, Spain
Career History:
I only joined Bovis Lend Lease in April 2007. Prior to this I was doing a similar role for 5 years with another company.
I started in the industry 10 years ago working for a small company in Madrid. Later I moved to Malaga and began to work as a Technical Architect for a Promoter, with responsibility for construction and after-sales.
Why did you decide to join Bovis Lend Lease?
Because it is a big company there are enormous possibilities for your future and career. Also the people I met were all very nice to me.
What does your job involve?
At the moment I’m preparing cost plans. Once work commences on-site I will take charge of production and the day-to-day running of the site. This includes monitoring health and safety.
Can you give an example of a project you have worked on recently?
Right now I’m involved in a development of 250 apartments and townhouses, with a golf course, gardens, pool and nice communal areas.
What are the best things about working for Bovis Lend Lease?
The international profile means there is the possibility to transfer to other countries. Also everyone is available to give advice. Everybody should know how Bovis Lend Lease cares about employee satisfaction and retention.
How would you describe Bovis Lend Lease’s culture?
The open door policy is the best I have ever known, you can make contact with anyone all over the world. The environment is very positive and we have the opportunity to share knowledge through tools like I-Konnect.

Just do it!
It is an incomparable company, with more than 7000 people pursuing the same goals. It is a positive move to improve your work experience.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I love sports like paddle tennis, bike riding, trekking and swimming. I also used to read books on architecture and novels. I like gardening but most of all I adore walking on the beach.

When it is possible I love to spend my time travelling.
